慶應義塾大学環境情報学部卒業。在学時には、小売・IT の領域において 3 社を起業する。卒業後、マッキンゼー・アンド・カンパニーの東京およびフランクフルトに在籍。北欧、西欧、中東、アジアの 9 ヵ国において多国籍企業の戦略策定に関わる。2008 年に同社退職後、オックスフォード大学経営大学院に移籍、助手を勤めながら博士号 ( 経営学 ) を取得、立命館大学を経て、2016 年から現職。著書に『領域を超える経営学 - グローバル経営の本質を知の系譜で読み解く』などがある。
Graduated from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University. While a student, he founded three companies in retail and IT. After graduation he joined McKinsey & Company, working from the Tokyo and Frankfurt offices and contributing to the strategies of multinational firms across nine countries in Northern Europe, Western Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. After leaving McKinsey in 2008, he moved to the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, where he earned his DPhil in Management Studies while serving as a research assistant. He then taught at Ritsumeikan University before taking up his current post in 2016. His publications include Management Studies that Transcend Domains: Reading the Essence of Global Management Through the Genealogy of Knowledge.
